The electric valve is an electric control device, which is often used to adjust the flow of liquid or gas in various systems.
A solenoid valve is an automated valve that "controls fluid with electricity". The magnetic force generated by the coil drives the internal valve core(plunger) to move, thereby switching the fluid on and off or reversing the direction. After power failure, the spring returns to its original state.
Solenoid valves are mainly divided into direct-acting type and pilot-operated type.
Direct-acting type: simple structure, relying on the magnetic force of the coil to directly overcome the elastic force or fluid pressure, lifting the plunger/piston to drive the valve core, realizing the opening and closing of the valve to control the fluid.
Pilot-operated type: more complex structure, in addition to the coil and the small pilot valve plunger/piston, there are also the main valve core and the main valve cavity. First, the pilot valve plunger/piston is lifted by magnetic force to open the pilot valve, so that the upper and lower cavities of the main valve have a pressure difference, and the main valve core is pushed to control the fluid.
Solenoid valves are widely used. With their fast response, accurate control and easy integration, they play a role in industrial automation, water treatment, refrigeration and air conditioning, medical equipment, automotive industry, gas equipment and other fields.
They are often used to control the flow of water, oil, or gas in pipelines, as well as in appliances like washing machines and dishwashers.
As a common fluid control component, solenoid valves offer a core advantage: they can quickly and precisely regulate fluid flow. By adjusting the current that drives the valve, flexible flow control can be easily achieved to meet the precise operation needs of different scenarios.
For pneumatic solenoid valves, installation and maintenance processes are simple and convenient. They also support remote operation via electronic control systems, significantly enhancing usability and automation levels.
However, solenoid valves do have some limitations:
They are generally not suitable for high-pressure or high-temperature working conditions, where performance instability is likely to occur;Failure rates increase significantly when exposed to specific chemicals or harsh environments;Compared to other types of valves, solenoid valves tend to have higher procurement costs.
Despite these drawbacks, solenoid valves have been widely adopted in numerous fluid control scenarios, serving as reliable solutions thanks to their stable performance and efficient control capabilities.
With continuous technological advancements, solenoid valves will continue to play an important role in multiple industries in the future.
